Welcome to...
THE MAGIC TEAPOT

ABOUT US
An all-weather, totally acoustic, fireside venue
A few years ago, Joseph Peace was running a firepit venue at Boomtown Fair. The fire was blazing, and everyone was sitting around, singing along having a lovely time. But Joseph was thinking - not unreasonably given our wonderful UK climate - what happens if it rains? So with this thought in mind, he decided to build an all-weather fireside venue.
The design of The Magic Teapot makes it flexible for all weather conditions. We can open up the doors and windows, or remove sections of the roof to allow the breeze to pass through whilst providing shade. Or we can batten down the hatches and have it toasty warm and dry whilst the weather rages outside.
We are low impact, and strive to be the greenest festival venue.
-
We need no 240V power. Our lighting is simple LED 12V lighting powered by solar panel/leisure battery and we are acoustic only, using no amplification.
-
We recognise the problem of single use cups, and only use real mugs for our tea and coffee. We have a washing up station behind our venue.
-
The whole structure fits onto a single trailer for transport, and is designed to be erected using human might alone, no need for any plant.
-
It is freestanding, no staking into the ground is required, which makes us ideal for sensitive land.
-
We use locally sourced logs from sustainable woodland for our fire, which is raised above the ground and leaves no trace.
As an acoustic-only venue, we are not subject to the curfew of having to turn off amplifiers at any particular time, and can stay open 24 hours a day, providing a welcoming place for people to gather whatever the time of day or night.

2022 EVENTS
Summer 2021 went pretty well, all things considered. We managed to get to seven festivals, and did our first Magic Teapot wedding. We also attended The Showman's Show in October, which was greatly missed last year.
The Magic Teapot main season kicks off at the end of May, and runs right through the summer months to early September. The events listed here are the ones that have been confirmed. Some have rolled over twice due to the pandemic and we can't wait to get to them!
We are in discussion with lots of other festivals, so please check back regularly, and keep an eye on the events section of our Facebook page to see where we will be!
See two, or even three events on the same weekend? That's because The Magic Teapot #2, affectionately known as "Twopot", is now live, and "Threepot" is in production, ready to make its first public outing at the start of the 2022 season.
The following festivals are now confirmed for 2022:
26 - 29 May 2022: Bearded Theory's Spring Gathering, Catton Hall, Derbyshire

The Magic Teapot is now available for private hire!
Though originally conceived as a venue to take to festivals, we have been increasingly asked if we do private events. So if you are looking for something different for your wedding or party, and want to wow your guests with a unique and welcoming venue, please do get in touch!
In addition to the Magic Teapot, we have a much larger structure (same style and design) which is great for larger events. It is over twice the size of The Magic Teapot and can seat 120 people at tables, many more standing, and is a fantastic space to host a party of any kind - see photos below.
We can offer a range of packages to suit your needs, from dry hire of the structure, to the whole shebang including musical entertainment.

THE MAGIC TEAPOT CREW
Over the past few years we’ve gathered together a lively crew of people who will welcome you into The Magic Teapot. Nearly all of our crew can sing or play an instrument as well as serve you an excellent cuppa.
We have piano maestros, singer-songwriters, guitar heroes, folky banjo players, accordion-squeezers and a whole array of other instruments amongst our players. We can lead singalongs and jams, and will always encourage anyone who wants to to participate.
We are always on the look out for new people to add to our crew. If you have lots of energy, can play an instrument, or bash out a singalong tune on the piano, then we would love to hear from you. Please get in touch!

Love love love this place, spent 3 days in there and only left to stock up beer supplies, super talented musicians super friendly...
Had the absolute joy of stumbling across this place at Glasto - it is run by a group of charming and talented individuals who I can't thank enough for being one of the best parts of a joyous weekend.
The Magic Teapot is a wonderful place. When I find it landed anywhere, I always see it as the go-to space to sit and enjoy the spontaneous performances, the welcome of the marvellous people who run it and of course, a cut of tea or coffee if you prefer. Long live the Magic Teapot!
Quite possibly my favourite thing about the rainy, cold BugJam weekend. A bloody good brew and a great atmosphere.
A place that facilitates magic...
Warning! Expert waylayers alert! Do not go here if you have somewhere else you are supposed to be within the next few hours. This is such a brilliant, fun, friendly place to hang out and join in with super talented musicians. Can't recommend it enough xxxx
